Accotink Academy by the Sea is dedicated to the education of children from preschool age through the fifth grade. Our mission is to recognize the developmental level and individuality of each child taking in consideration of his/her learning styles as well as the academic, technological, social, physical and emotional skills necessary to reach his or her greatest potential.
We know that every child learns best in a safe and caring environment where high academic expectations, self-esteem, good character and healthier lifestyles are promoted. It is our goal to create a richer educational program for each student that will include a curriculum made up of the latest educational materials, techniques and instruction which will allow the child to reach his/her maximum potential.
Accotink Academy’s 43 yrs of experience in the education field allows us to make these high goals for each student come true. Our dedication to the finest education is well documented and we continue to strive to give the community and the children the finest private education available.

Accotink Academy's program is based on the observations of thousands of young children and their individual learning styles, as well as, the latest research in the field of Brain Based education. The program recognizes, through observation and evaluation, which style the child prefers to use, whether it is visual, auditory, or bodily/kinesthetic.
It uses the strengths of the preferred learning styles in teaching the bulk of the curriculum while stimulating those areas of the brain that are not being used as efficiently. This allows the child to gain maximum potential for learning.
